Read and Study God's Word Personal devotions can feel like one more job to do. The following ideas have helped me read and study the Bible. 1. Ask God to help you understand what you read. 2. Read with no agenda, time limit, or chapter limit. The longer I read, the more engaged I become. 3. Try reading a book of the Bible in one sitting. 4. Print an entire book onto paper. This gives you the freedom to highlight, underline, and write questions/ideas without the fear of “messing up” your Bible. This freedom helps me think and interact with God’s word in a deeper way. |

The tempter came to him and said,
"If you are the Son of God, command these stones be turned into bread."
But Jesus answered saying,
"It is written, Man does not live on bread alone,
but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."
Matthew 4:3, 4
